Social media marketing is all the rage these days, but as trendy as it has become, many more have yet to understand or realize what it really is.    For some, it can be a bit overwhelming to say the very least, most especially if you’re not even familiar with technology.

There is so much to consider and, to date, there is still no one hundred percent guaranteed method of dealing with the problems that may arise from the small chance of success in the field.    With that being said, here are five tips to make social media marketing much more user-friendly and to launch your social media marketing career…..in the right path.

More than anything, you’ll be needing an editorial schedule.    What’s that ?    Some may refer to it as an editorial calendar.   What it basically does is to give you a guide as to what topics you should be posting per week, per month, per field, and per website.    Consider it as a set of guidelines that will help you keep an organized hold onto the content you release.

It is a great way to help you manage your resources efficiently.  It will help you to create a record of your ventures, which you may analytically refer back to, as time goes by.   Be it a blog, a Facebook page, a Twitter feed you need done, always be sure to have a schedule ready.

Keep it simple !    Content is key to the success of your website but many entrepreneurs overdo it.    An overly-informative website can be just as unattractive as an under-informative one.    You don’t want to drown your audience with too many words and technicalities.   Keep it simple and keep it concise.     Content must be based upon what is relevant.    Don’t get easily sidetracked.    Focus on sending your idea one message at a time.

Next, you need to know the stats.    This is a feature that may not necessarily be applied to real life.    Online websites have a feature which allow you to monitor your page’s performance from one specific time period to another.    For example, you can look up how many people visited your website today and compare the data with that of several months ago.    Using this information, you can make deductions and informed judgments to justify your future actions.

Bring in advocates.    Advertising and publicity only go so far when you’re throwing pop-ups in your audience’s faces.    Find a partner, hire a celebrity, launch programs that get you recognized in cyberspace and in real life.

Focus.    Don’t multi-task.    Focus on one task or project at a time.    Dedicate your time and energy to one feature and only one feature.   Always work on quality and efficiency rather than quantity and cost.    For the next month, just stay on one project until it’s done – moving on to another, when and only when the first one is done.

When you think about it:  social media marketing is indeed hard.    But that’s no reason to fret or panic.    Gather your senses, pool your resources, and work with a system, analyzing and adjusting along the way.
