Tablets Alters Consumer Habits
News on Social Marketing, according to MediaPost News, InMobi and Mobext, the mobile marketing arm of Havas Digital, revealed how connected devices change the way people consume media and make purchases. It examines the practice of 9,600 U.S. consumers across PCs, smartphones and tablets.
U.S. tablet users increased to 29.5 million, representing 11% of the U.S. population. Sixty percent of these tablet owners access media content on their tablets at least 30 minutes a day.
Twenty nine percent of tablet owners stopped using their PC or laptop to surf the internet and 48% tablet owners agreed that it is easier for them to access media content on their tablet compared to a PC or laptop.
In purchasing, 55% of tablet owners make purchases on their device in an average month and 22% shopped less in physical stores upon acquiring a tablet. Fifty five percent of tablet owners learn about the product on their tablet, 53% assess the product and 58% purchases those products on their tablet.
For tablet owners, they usually use their device at home between 6 p.m. and midnight.

31% of Americans access internet through their mobile web
News on Social Marketing, according to Brafton News, according to a study from Pew, 60 % of American mobile web owners use their handsets as often as they use other devices connected to the internet. It also reveals that 31% of Americans use the mobile web as their main internet access point.
With the growth of the mobile web, smartphones lead the way as the most convenient method to access content online.
As consumers use mobile web for numerous reasons, it is important for any web marketing campaign to focus on giving their target prospects with a seamless brand experience on mobile.
According to Pew’s study, 64% of consumers use their smartphones for web access regularly due to the availability of the internet on their device. And 18% can easily perform certain tasks regularly on the mobile web. Smartphones can easily give the users quick information about a business or allows them to browse their favorite news source.
However, businesses creating high-quality news content or other digital content must assure users easy access to their sites. As part of their immediate web marketing efforts, companies must ensure a fully-functioning mobile websites as the survey shows that 45% of 18-to 29-year-olds mobile phone and smartphone owners do most of their web browsing on their mobile device.

+1 Button to drive traffic to Google’s Social Network
News on Social Marketing, according to Brafton News, on its latest step in the development of the +1 button and to increase drive traffic to the social network, Google announced that +1 buttons recommend other website content that has been endorsed by users when a visitor goes to +1 a page.
A dropdown menu can now be seen once user goes over the button, allowing them to find other articles, blog posts or videos that Google+ users have +1′d on the site. To ensure that content is relevant to the user, Google reported that the recommendations will be from the same site.
To maximize reach of its social media marketing campaigns, Google+ allows users to see the dropdown menu, even if they are not enrolled or logged into Google+ and ensuring that non-users can click the +1 button.
The company has not yet released the exact date of its full rollout, since they are still developing to perfect it, before releasing it widely. Though not yet available on all sites, developers can enroll to test the feature.
To help users share relevant content from Flipboard onto their Google+ page, Google+ has recently integrated with Flipboard for iOS and Android users.
