News on Social Marketing, according to TechCrunch, comScore reported that Google sites led on iOS, Android and RIM devices, followed by Facebook, Yahoo and Amazon sites. But in terms of usage, apps dominated with 4 out of every 5 mobile media minutes spent. This is based on comScores new Mobile Metrix, which examines mobile media usage across both apps and mobile web browsing.

Built-in system apps came out on top. But Facebook isn’t number one. The App Store or the Android Market holds the top spot, followed by either Google Search or Maps, depending on the platform.

On the iPhone, iTunes was the top app while on Android, Google Play store was number 1.

Based on social networking properties by audience size, a measurement determined by app usage and mobile site visitors, comScore looked Facebook as an easy winner, with its average mobile user engaging for over 7 hours thru browser or app in March.

The new hot image pinboarding site Pinterest reached 7.5 million smartphone visitors while Foursquare trailed Pinterest with 5.5 million mobile visitors. Tumblr reached an audience of nearly 4.5 million engaging at an average of 68 minutes at the same time.
