News on Google Marketing, according to Brafton: Pew Internet Research reported that according to 91% search engine users, virtually almost all their queries help them obtain the information they were seeking. But concern arises regarding privacy issues and the significance of search results since changes were made to personalize search.
Users are considering the top search engine integrate their previous search queries, location, cross-platform behavior and Google+ social data into their results, In view of personal search filters and the full roll out of Google’s Search, plus Your World. Consumers oppose to Google’s belief of making this a better search.
Among the respondents, 65% had negative notion on the thought that previous web activity affects search results, while 29% likes the idea.
With Google’s practice on the privacy front allowing the company to gather data on specific users across its platforms to personalize search results, 73% of respondents are not satisfied. While only 23% supports the measure. Changes made by Google and other search engines have satisfied consumers; with 52% believed that SERPs produced better results over time. Nonetheless, the use of social data in results and tracking previous queries appears to be too much for these users.
According to Brafton, almost two-thirds of respondents want to cancel their Google accounts. However, with Google handling more than two-thirds of U.S. queries, the company still keeps the lion’s share of the search market.
