CC BY allows republish and reuse of YouTube videos for free

News on YouTube Marketing, according to YouTube Blog, more than 40 years’ worth of video was added since the Creative Commons video library was introduced on YouTube, a year ago. But with the Creative Commons Attribution license, otherwise known as CC BY, users anywhere can now edit, build on and republish the library’s four million creative commons videos on YouTube for free.

As long as credit is given to the original creator, CC BY gives you the specific permissions to easily reused, remixed and borrow footage from other people’s videos and insert it into your own.

By selecting “Creative Commons Attribution license” from the “License and rights ownership” menu, you allow other users to reuse and remix your published video with the YouTube Video Editor. You also have the option to license your future videos under CC BY as a default.

Imagine your footage being used by students from the other side of the globe, or directors using your videos for music? With people around the globe reusing and remixing your footage, you open the door to collective imagination and will experience a lot of fun.

YouTube’s Face blurring allows anonymity of faces on videos

News on YouTube Marketing, according to YouTube Blog, today, YouTube is launching face blurring- its new tool that aims to help people play an important role in delivering news and human rights footage from around the world. With the click of a button, faces on videos can easily be obscured.

YouTube’s face blurring technology is a crucial move towards providing visual anonymity on video. This allows the sharing of sensitive footages without exposing the faces of the people concerned.

Because of the risks by activists in posting videos and films, YouTube is looking for other ways to protect the people on these videos.

YouTube’s face blurring technology is easy to apply. After choosing the video that you’d like to edit within the Video Enhancements tool, go to Additional Features and click the “Apply” button below Blur All Faces. A preview on what your video will look like will be seen before publishing your edited video. A new copy is created with the blurred faces once you save the changes of the video. An option to delete the original video will then be given to you. However, if you are not satisfied with the preview of the edited video, then you can keep your video in private.

Want button will soon be available to business pages fans

News on Facebook Marketing, according to Brafton News, to maintain its growth and generate more revenues, Facebook is adopting innovations that both marketers and consumers can use. Rumors circulate that Facebook is about to unveil a Want button in addition to its already popular Like function. This button could encourage endorsement of a product or service discussed on the platform which makes it beneficial for marketers.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the Want button feature will be available for fans of business pages to suggest items they plan to purchase. Marketers will be able to choose which posts they include the Want button on, so it won’t appear when web content or other non-product, non-service posts are shared.

Facebook’s latest innovations have become even more critical given the nature of the Want button. Supposedly, release and availability of new products can be paired with the Want button. The planned release of Scheduled Page Posts to set content for sharing at optimal times, was recently highlighted by Brafton.
