News on Google Marketing, according to Brafton: to improve its search experience and help control the search territory, Google has acquired database company Metaweb. While this could help consumers acquire faster & easier search results, database firm helps streamline answer those best fit users’ queries. Metaweb will aid Google to prove that the web isn’t merely words – its information.
With the partnership of Google and Metaweb, direct answers to consumers’ more complex queries will be shown at the top of pages. Metaweb is also helping Google provide more specific searches and longer queries. A study by Hitwise shows that longer keywords are already a rising trend and this new Google feature may advance the trend of longer queries.
Similar to the Bing Entertainment feature launched earlier this year, Google can now access a collection of more than 12 million movies, television shows, books, celebrities and more through Metaweb’s Freebase. Company information will likewise be available in the Google/ Metaweb Freebase.
According to Hitwise report, Google still leads the search market with a 71.65 total percentage of U.S. online queries in June. On the other hand, a combined 30% share of the search market is predicted by Yahoo officials with the merger of Bing and Yahoo.
