Amazon Pages Offer Users Wide Web Retail Service

News on Social Marketing, according to Inc.: to allow retailers create web stores and market through the Amazon network, the online retailer announced today the roll out of the Amazon Pages. The sites come with a domain name linked to Amazon (like www.amazon.com/CompanyX), TechCrunch reported.

Retailers can gain access to a simple site-building tool that lets them create a custom webpage once a retailer registers their company through Pages. With Pages, retailers can make customized e-stores that remain autonomous from Amazon’s main site. Access to Amazon Post, a social media dashboard connected to Pages and Facebook, and Amazon Analytics, a web metrics tool that monitors Amazon Post sales and social media trends, will also be available to businesses registered wit Pages.

Three templates will be available to retailers who want to design their website. Customers can also make purchases directly from the site with a “Merchandising Widget” that can be installed by retailers through the web building tool. According to Amazon, retailers can also install buttons to their social media accounts.

With Amazon Post, a business can now manage parts of its social media presence. Users can simultaneously post messages and updates to their company’s Facebook profile and Amazon retail page with the Post dashboard and can also write a batch of posts and then schedule them throughout the day.

Charts and graphs that monitor web traffic and customer habits will also be available to registered retailers through the Amazon Analytics.

Although these features are free for retailers to use, TechCrunch reported that to be able to avail of these service, interested users must first submit an application to Amazon for approval.
